Asher,
You are three and a half months old and so far you are my happiest baby. Now I have to say that your brother and sister were hungry a lot. I was not able to make enough milk for them to be satisfied, so they cried a lot. I made sure that even though I am still nursing so that you get the antibodies that you need, I supplemented with some formula from the very beginning. Its a good thing too, because you don't latch well and I still have to use a shield to help you. Anyway, you are always happy and smiling unless you are hungry or tired. You love the Bumbo much more than your brother and sister ever did. You will sit in it for an hour at a time. You also love the play mat. Just like Karis and Micah you love to smile at the sun, you laugh at it even. You like the bouncer too and I think you will enjoy the super cool Johnny Jumper that Meemo got you more and more as you get a little more stable holding your core up on your own. I also think you will like the walker. You have only been in it once, but you really like to "stand". People tell me all the time how you seem too young to be "standing" like that. Of course you are small. You were in the 10th percentile in height, weight, and head size at your two month appointment. You were 10 lbs 4 oz and 21 1/2 inches long. I am hoping that you and your brother (he is short too) will grow to be at least average height, but for now you are just so darn cute and little, much cuter than some of the other baby boys your age who are bigger (don't tell their mommies). I have only known you (outside the wonb) for three months and I already love you so much. I can't imagine what life was like without you! You don't sleep as well as I would like. For the first three months I let you sleep in the baby swing because you just did so much better in there. Right at about three months, I moved you out of the swing, out of our bedroom and into the crib upstairs. It was hard for me to move you. I'm not sure why, maybe I sense that you might be my last baby and I want to cherish every minute. Now you will sleep about eight hours most nights, but you can't stay up past 8, so I rarely get to take full advantage of it. I don't want you to grow up too fast, but I look forward to getting a little more sleep. I call you "Ash" a lot even though I didn't think that I would. I might have to change it up a bit as you get older. We'll just have to see. Your hair is looking a little bit red in some lights right now. We'll have to see if that changes and whether you will have your sister's straight hair or your brother's curls. Either way, you are quite a handsome baby. So far, you only roll from your tummy to your back. Just like Micah, you did that right at a month, but have yet to try to roll the other way at all. I know you will learn so many things over the next few months and I can't wait to watch you grow!
