Six months and counting...

Asher,
It has been too long since I have written to you.  Here is what you have been up to my happy boy...  You are just that, my very happy almost all the time boy!!  At six months you were 14 lbs 11 oz and 25.2 inches.  You are still on the small side, but that (and the fact that you are so easy going) made it possible for me to do this...
Shortly after this picture was taken, you began sitting up really well.  You were not mobile at all, but you could sit up anywhere and were perfectly happy doing so.  You love love love ths jumper.  You can stay in it for hours at a time, not that I leave you in it that long! ;)   So, I am finishing this letter to you right after your 9 month appt.  You were 17 lbs 14 oz and 27 inches long.  You are still holding firm in the 10th percrentile.  Here are a few recent shots I have taken of you...

"I'm how old?!"

my blue-eyed baby boy!

We were having a little time just the two of us while Karis and Micah were at school.

I took this at your nine month appt.  You love mirrors.  You always have!  At this appt, I told the doctor how you weren't really crawling yet, mostly booty-scootin' to get around.  That afternoon you started to actually crawl.  You still aren't in any hurry to get around, but you are still my "happy boy"!  I love you so much!

Naked baby...five months old

Today I decided to play by doing my own little "naked baby" photo shoot with you.
You really are happy almost ALL the time. If there ever was a baby to make me want another one, you are THAT baby! I normally don't love the newborn to one year phase all that much. I mean of course I love my babies, but it seems like the other two were hard at this age. I think part of it was that they were hungry and I didn't know it, but you are just so happy all the time and you smile at anyone or anything!
You are teething...no teeth yet, but you continue to chew on your hands constantly.
I saw something like this and I wanted to try it. The one I saw was a baby hand, mommy hand and daddy hand in that order. Since I took this myself, I had a hard time getting the angle right, and of course, no daddy hand in this one, but overall I was pleased with how it turned out.
A little fun...
So, that was my little photo shoot. I will say that immediately after, we had a mess to clean up and it was NOT pee pee! Fortunately you were no longer on our white sheets!  Happy five months!  I love you!

Four Month Stats...

Hey Ash,

We took you to your four month appt today...
You were happy the whole time even though we had to wait forever!  You are still small.  I knew you were since you can still wear your 0-3 month clothes.  You are 23.7 inches long which is below 5th percentile and you weighed in at 13.1 lbs which is between 5th and 10th.  You still weigh more than both your brother and your sister at their four month appt.  You are small (at least for now) but you are well-proportioned.  You are happy and you seem to get enough to eat, so I am not worried about you.
The dr. said you were doing great holding your head and your body up.  He said you are strong!

I love you so much and can't wait to see what you will do in the next few months!

Four months old...what you are doing now

You are four months old and still my "happy boy" most of the time. You are sleeping about 6-8 hours at a time at night. You usually go to bed around 8 and wake up sometime between 4 and 6, take a 4 oz bottle and go back to sleep until 7 or 8. I don't think I can ask for much more at this point. You have been rolling from your tummy to your back since you were a month old. You have gotten very close to rolling from your back to your tummy, but you stop just short. You are still little. I will know your exact stats on Tuesday when we go for your checkup, but you are still wearing your 0-3 month clothes. You have lost the hair on both sides of your head, but you still have all of it on top. You have a mo-hawk :). Your sister had this same problem and from what I remember it won't take too long for it to grow back. You LOVE to "stand". You are very strong and busy too. You like to move and kick. I don't know what I am going to do with you when you get mobile. Between you and your brother I might just go crazy! You like the walker, the jumper, the bumbo, the playmat. You will pretty much stay anywhere for a while, especially if you are not hungry or tired. You are teething and chewing on your fingers and anything else you can get in your mouth all the time. You don't have any teeth yet. I gave you a couple of puffs today and you ate them, but I'm not sure you love them yet. Here are a few recent pics of you...
happy boy!
I couldn't resist getting a pic of you sweetly sleeping.
Can you say "teething"?!
This is your "SUPER LOVIE!" that mrs. Eva gave you.
I love this outfit on you!
notice the lack of hair on the sides

"Love to Laugh"

Asher,
There is a song from the movie "Mary Poppins" (don't worry, you will see it soon) called "I love to laugh".  You are such a happy baby and you do love to laugh.  You rarely cry unless you are hungry or tired. (You are serious about your bedtime.)  You really enjoy when Karis or Micah make faces at you or play with you by pulling on your arms and legs.  I have to remind them that you are still little and not to be too rough.  I know Micah is waiting for the day when he can wrestle and play rough with you.  He is a mess, but I think you will hold your own.  You are strong even though you are little.  You will laugh at almost anyone who will look at you.  You especially love mirrors.  I put one in the van so that you can smile, laugh and coo at yourself while we are driving...and you do!  You LOVE the playmat and the sun that smiles at you.  I think I already told you this is the first letter, but even since I wrote that one, I notice how long you will sit and just smile and laugh at that SUN.  You are my happy baby!  I love you!!

Happy Boy...

Asher,
You are three and a half months old and so far you are my happiest baby.  Now I have to say that your brother and sister were hungry a lot.  I was not able to make enough milk for them to be satisfied, so they cried a lot.  I made sure that even though I am still nursing so that you get the antibodies that you need, I supplemented with some formula from the very beginning.  Its a good thing too, because you don't latch well and I still have to use a shield to help you.  Anyway, you are always happy and smiling unless you are hungry or tired.  You love the Bumbo much more than your brother and sister ever did.  You will sit in it for an hour at a time.  You also love the play mat.  Just like Karis and Micah you love to smile at the sun, you laugh at it even.  You like the bouncer too and I think you will enjoy the super cool Johnny Jumper that Meemo got you more and more as you get a little more stable holding your core up on your own.  I also think you will like the walker.  You have only been in it once, but you really like to "stand".  People tell me all the time how you seem too young to be "standing" like that.  Of course you are small.  You were in the 10th percentile in height, weight, and head size at your two month appointment.  You were 10 lbs 4 oz and 21 1/2 inches long.  I am hoping that you and your brother (he is short too) will grow to be at least average height, but for now you are just so darn cute and little, much cuter than some of the other baby boys your age who are bigger (don't tell their mommies).  I have only known you (outside the wonb) for three months and I already love you so much.  I can't imagine what life was like without you!  You don't sleep as well as I would like.  For the first three months I let you sleep in the baby swing because you just did so much better in there.  Right at about three months, I moved you out of the swing, out of our bedroom and into the crib upstairs.  It was hard for me to move you.  I'm not sure why, maybe I sense that you might be my last baby and I want to cherish every minute.  Now you will sleep about eight hours most nights, but you can't stay up past 8, so I rarely get to take full advantage of it.  I don't want you to grow up too fast, but I look forward to getting a little more sleep.  I call you "Ash" a lot even though I didn't think that I would.  I might have to change it up a bit as you get older.  We'll just have to see.  Your hair is looking a little bit red in some lights right now.  We'll have to see if that changes and whether you will have your sister's straight hair or your brother's curls.  Either way, you are quite a handsome baby.  So far, you only roll from your tummy to your back.  Just like Micah, you did that right at a month, but have yet to try to roll the other way at all.  I know you will learn so many things over the next few months and I can't wait to watch you grow!
